Hennepin Avenue Image

This online photography exhibition includes images from the Hennepin History Museum's exhibition Historic Hennepin Avenue: The Black and White Period and features the work of local photographer, Dan Shattuck. Through his photographs, Shattuck captures the remarkable change in the look and composition of one of downtown Minneapolis' most traveled streets. His work documents the present in an attempt to preserve the past and teaches us that things can change very quickly, and that sometimes, even our recent history is fleeting and can be lost forever.

The photographs in this online exhibition are currently on view at the Hennepin History Museum along with other selected images from the Museum's permanent collection. The museum is located in the historic Washburn Fair Oaks neighborhood just south of downtown Minneapolis at 2303 3rd Avenue S.. To learn more about this exhibit and the museum, visit the museum's website at, or call (612) 870-1329.
